This Book Has Intricate Puzzles That Must Be Solved To Unlock The Next Page

Here’s a book which is actually difficult to read. No, we’re not talking about the context, but the actual physical nature of the book. It’s The Codex Silenda and it’s part book, part puzzle. In order to progress, you apparently have to unlock each section.

This sharp looking 5 page wood book was designed by Brady Whitney. He’s been putting together funds in order to make the project come to life and you can get on the waiting list to get one for yourself.

Here’s how Whitney explains his creation:

“Each page features a unique puzzle that requires the user/reader to unlock the corresponding bolts in order to progress to the next page.”

“As the puzzler moves through the book, a story begins to unfold, depicting the story of an apprentice in Da Vinci’s Workshop who encounters the same Codex. However, in the story the Codex acts as a trap set by Da Vinci to capture any would be spies/snoopy apprentices in order to protect his work. The only way to escape is to solve each of the puzzles before the master returns from his trip.”

So how much for this incredibly unique book? It looks to be selling for $150 for a fully assembled version once the project is funded.

They’ve been getting pretty swamped with orders, but you can add your email to their waiting list here.
